Stekoa Creek Park Work Day
Join us at Stekoa Creek Park in Clayton, GA to help remove kudzu and other non-native invasive species. Removing these plants reduces competition for native vegetation and helps restore the natural ecosystem.
We only need a limited number of volunteers for this event. Please sign up to reserve your spot!
What to Expect: We’ll be digging kudzu roots and pulling vines, as well as digging up other invasive plants such as multiflora rose, honeysuckle, English ivy, and privet. Expect to get dirty, and come prepared for the weather and elements! You could run into poison ivy, briars, stinging insects, etc. We recommend sturdy work pants, long sleeves, boots, and a hat.
What to Bring: Work gloves, plenty of water, and snacks if desired. We’ll provide shovels, mattocks, spades, hand saws, and loppers or hedge shears, but you’re welcome to bring your own tools if you prefer.
