Planned Giving

planned giving through bequest
An excellent way for you to support the mission of the Chattooga Conservancy is with a bequest in your will or living trust. One significant benefit of making a gift by bequest is that it allows you to create a meaningful plan for your gift without affecting your cash flow during your lifetime. The same is true if you name us as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, a life insurance policy, a bank account or a security. Thank you for wanting to make a difference and we hope you will consider leaving a lasting legacy to advance environmental advocacy related to the watershed for future generations.
Please make all bequests to “The Chattooga Conservancy”  a  501c3 tax-exempt organization.
Bequest Benefits

A bequest is generally a revocable gift, which means it can be changed or modified at any time. You can choose to designate that a bequest be used for a general or specific purpose.

… if you do not have a living will

If you do not have a living will or trust, a few members have had success creating one through FreeWill.com.  The website is free to use, but the final document may require notarization and witness, which can be done at most local banks.

The website is capable of creating a simple, but valid will for whatever state you reside in, and allows for the listing of non-profits such as The Chattooga Conservancy as a beneficiary of all or part of your estate.  All you will need are the Conservancy’s legal name, address, and EIN, identified below:

Full Legal Name : The Chattooga Conservancy

EIN : 985-320-9518

Address : 867 Chattooga Ridge Rd Mountain Rest, SC 29664
