About the Event:
The Chattooga is the crown jewel of Wild & Scenic Rivers in the southeastern United States.
In celebration of this beautiful river, we are hosting our Stay Wild event on July 25th at Chattooga Belle Farm in Long Creek, South Carolina. Stay Wild brings together hundreds of people who love the Chattooga River to partner in its protection while celebrating the impact the river has had on our community and our lives.
The Chattooga Conservancy is dedicated to the Chattooga River, its watershed and nearby special places, advocating for proper management of public and private lands. Today, we face increased pressures from rollbacks of environmental protection measuresleaving our watershed even more vulnerable to biodiversity loss, unchecked development, water quality degradation, and mismanagement of our treasured national forests. In the face of these unprecedented threats, it has never been more important to gather the community in support of this remarkable place.
