Meet Our New Staff Member – Ericka Berg

Ericka grew up in Polk County, North Carolina, where her family has deep roots. She attended Berea College in Kentucky and made her way back to WNC as an AmeriCorps member with Conserving Carolina, a land trust in Hendersonville.

After many years working in local and regional land trusts in positions ranging from volunteer management, education, operations, development, and conservation easement stewardship, Ericka has joined Chattooga Conservancy as the Community Engagement and Operations Director.

In her role, Ericka is utilizing her broad nonprofit background. She is expanding our efforts to engage our community in supporting the mission of the Chattooga Conservancy, managing some of the organization’s administrative functions, stewarding the conservation easements, and assisting the Executive Director in land trust operations and landowner outreach.

Ericka and her husband Jay Guidry live in Mountain Rest, a few miles from the river. In her free time, you can find her somewhere outdoors. She “enjoys being bad at many activities,” including gardening, running, mountain biking, backpacking, hiking, whitewater kayaking (in her ducky), and playing disc golf.

Please join us in welcoming Ericka to the Chattooga Conservancy team!
